I think this whole discussion about whether someone can experience trance and at what level is irrelevant to successfully using hypnosis to make changes in someone's life. Outside of the small number of people who are mentally handicapped, all of us can, and do use hypnosis successfully, or unsuccessfully every day to either move us along to where we want to go or towards what we want to avoid. To keep segmenting the population into the have's and have nots just prevents people from using the technology for their own good.
