Exercise Could Slow Aging Of Body, Study Suggests - washingtonpost.com
Great news! Exercise may be the fountain of youth. The more people exercised, the longer the telomeres in their DNA were. Telomeres normally get shorter with age.
For those who exercised moderately/vigorously for 100 minutes a a week, their telomeres looked like those of sedentary people (who exercised 16 minutes a week) who were 5-6 years younger, and for people who exercised 3 hours a week, the telomeres resembled those of someone 9 years younger. This could mean that exercise may slow down aging in people.
